Alisha: This is Must-Know Urdu Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 8. In this lesson, you'll learn expressions that involve limbs.

SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Alisha: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Syed: ہاتھ باندھنا
(hath bandhana)
Syed: مٹھی گرم کرنا
(muthi garam kerna)
Syed: ٹانگ اڑانا
(tang aarahna)
Syed: قبر میں پاؤں ہونا
(kabar mein paon hona)
Alisha: Syed, what's our first expression?
Syed: ہاتھ باندھنا
(hath bandhana)
Alisha: literally meaning "to tie hands." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to request."
Syed: [SLOW] ہاتھ باندھنا [NORMAL] ہاتھ باندھنا

Alisha: Okay, what's the next expression?
Syed: مٹھی گرم کرنا
(muthi garam kerna)
Alisha: literally meaning "to warm fist." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to take/ to give bribes."
Syed: [SLOW] مٹھی گرم کرنا [NORMAL] مٹھی گرم کرنا

Alisha: literally meaning "to put leg in." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to interfere ."
Syed: [SLOW] ٹانگ اڑانا [NORMAL] ٹانگ اڑانا

Alisha: Okay, what's the last expression?
Syed: قبر میں پاؤں ہونا
(kabar mein paon hona)
Alisha: literally meaning "feet in the grave." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "near death."
Syed: [SLOW] قبر میں پاؤں ہونا [NORMAL] قبر میں پاؤں ہونا

Alisha: Use this slang expression when you want to indicate a person who is very ill, or very old. It is used for a person who is not expected to live for much longer.
Be careful when using it face to face.

Syed: [NORMAL] میری دادی کے قبر میں پاؤں ہیں لیکن اب تک خوبصورت نظر آتی ہیں۔
(Meri dadi kay kabar mein paon hain lekin ab tak khoobsorat nazar ati hain.)

Alisha: "My grandmother is very old, but she still looks beautiful."
Syed: [NORMAL] میری دادی کے قبر میں پاؤں ہیں لیکن اب تک خوبصورت نظر آتی ہیں۔
