Alisha: This is Must-Know Urdu Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 7. In this lesson, you'll learn expressions that involve eyes.
Alisha: These expressions are often used when talking about things we do with our eyes.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Alisha: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Syed: آنکھ کھلنا

Syed: آنکھیں کُھلی کی کُھلی رہ جانا

Alisha: literally meaning "to open eye." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to know the truth, to realize one's mistake."

Alisha: literally meaning "to keep eyes open." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to be aware, to be careful, to pay attention."

Alisha: Use this slang expression when you want to indicate a person who secretly gives information or a gesture. When a person wants to give a hint about something, he winks his/her eye at another person.
Be careful when you use this word in front of a woman. It is considered a bad habit when someone tries to wink at a woman.

Alisha: literally meaning "eyes left wide open." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to be shocked."
