Alisha: This is Must-Know Urdu Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 5. In this lesson, you'll learn expressions that involve body parts, part 2.

SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Alisha: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Syed: دماغ چاٹنا
(dimagh chatna)
Syed: دماغ نہ کھاؤ
(dimagh na khao)
Syed: بال بال بچنا
(baal baal bachna)
Syed: کباب میں ہڈی
(kabab mei hadi)
Alisha: Syed, what's our first expression?
Syed: دماغ چاٹنا
(dimagh chatna)
Alisha: literally meaning "licking brain." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to tease, to annoy."
Syed: [SLOW] دماغ چاٹنا [NORMAL] دماغ چاٹنا

Syed: دماغ نہ کھاؤ

Alisha: literally meaning "do not eat brain." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "do not tease."
Syed: [SLOW] دماغ نہ کھاؤ [NORMAL] دماغ نہ کھاؤ

(baal baal bachna)
Alisha: literally meaning "hair hair escape." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "hair's breadth escape, narrowly escaped."
Syed: [SLOW] بال بال بچنا [NORMAL] بال بال بچنا

Alisha: Use this slang expression when you want to indicate a person who had a very close escape from an accident or attack.

Alisha: Okay, what's the last expression?
Syed: کباب میں ہڈی
(kabab mei hadi)
Alisha: literally meaning "bone in kabab." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "an interfering and unwanted third party."
Syed: [SLOW] کباب میں ہڈی [NORMAL] کباب میں ہڈی

Alisha: Use this slang expression when you want to say that someone is interfering in a couple (husband/wife, girlfriend/boyfriend). It can also be used to talk about a person who interferes in a business deal. Mostly, it is used to indicate a person who interferes between relationships.
Alisha: Now let's hear an example sentence.
Syed: [NORMAL] میری کزن میرے اور میرے شوہر کے بیچ کباب میں ہڈی بن رہی ہے
(Meri cousin meray aur meray shohar kay beach kabab mei hadi bun rahi hai)
Syed: [SLOW] میری کزن میرے اور میرے شوہر کے بیچ کباب میں ہڈی بن رہی ہے

Alisha: "My cousin is interfering between me and my husband"
