Alisha: This is Must-Know Urdu Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 1. In this lesson, you'll learn expressions that involve animals.
Alisha: Animals can also be a subject of our expressions, and here you'll see that these can take on a different meaning in a new context.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Alisha: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Syed: شیر

Syed: اُلو بنانا
(uloo banana)
Syed: گھوڑے بیچ کر سونا
(ghoray beech ker sona)
Syed: پیٹ میں چوہے کودنا
(pait mei choohay kodna)
Alisha: Syed, what's our first expression?
Syed: شیر

Alisha: literally meaning "lion." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "brave."

Alisha: literally meaning "to make an owl." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to make a fool of someone."

Alisha: literally meaning "to sleep after selling horses." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to have a carefree sleep."

Syed: پیٹ میں چوہے کودنا

Alisha: literally meaning "rats jumping in the stomach." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "very hungry."
