(Rayazi) |
“math” |
ریاضی میرا پسندیدہ مضمون ہے. |
(Rayazi mera pasandeedah mazmoon hai.) |
“Math is my favorite subject.” |
Actually that’s not true. I was terrible at maths. |
2. |
نصف |
(Nisf) |
“half” |
نصف کلاس غیر حاضر ہے. |
(Nisf class ghair hazir hai.) |
“Half of the class is absent.” |
Okay. So this word nisaf you can also use when you are buying stuff, as in food. So for example, |
نصف پلیٹ بریانی |
(Nisf plate biryani). It means the same. So “half a plate of biryani.” |

ساٹھ فیصد لوگ اس ملک میں تعلیم یافتہ ہیں. |
(Sath feesad log iss mulk mei taleem yafta hain.) |
“60 percent of people are educated in this country.” |

جفت عدد یاد کرنا آسان ہے. |
(Jusft adad yaad kerna aasan hai.) |
“It is easy to memorize even numbers.” |
I would just like to point it out over here that many people might not use this word and just say even words in Urdu as in even words because if you are coming from an Urdu medium background that you might be knowing these words and using them a lot but commonly I think many people now in Pakistan don’t use these words anymore. |

(Taq adad yaad kerna mushkil hai.) |
“It is difficult to memorize odd numbers.” |
I gave you some information about the even words but contrary to it, I think this word is a lot used in Pakistan but not just as in only for numbers. You can also use this word for nights. Taq raatein. |

So this word is used in our daily conversation a lot. |

(Yeh tafreeq ka sawal hal karo.) |
“Solve this subtraction question.” |
